Calgary Youth Accelerator Invitation for Participation

from: City of Calgary

To ensure the City of Calgary can have the best impact we can have for youth in Calgary, The City is doing some internal scoping on what our role is to best support outcomes for youth. In order to ensure that this work is centred on the real perspectives of youth, the City of Calgary is holding a two hour focus group session with thirty youth across The City to hear from them what issues affect them.

The session will run two-hours in length and participants will be asked to provide their views using an online platform about what will improve their life in Calgary.

The session will be held: 8thJuly 2021 at 5:30pm to 7:45pm

The time commitment to expect is about two hours to participate in the online meeting. Participants are asked to participate using their personal experiences. There is no prep time or expert knowledge needed. The City is looking for a diverse group of individuals that is loosely based on the demographics of The City to ensure that we hear from a diversity of perspectives. Therefore there will be a screening process of participants to ensure that we meet this demographic profile.

Please note, this an internal City of Calgary process to help us understand where we can have the greatest impact for youth. There is not yet a decision on the outcome of this work. It is also not going to be made public in any way, and only about 20 internal leaders will receive the anonymized data this in order to inform how The City potentially could do more to support youth.

The session will be recorded for data analysis purposes and not disseminated or published externally. If you consent to contribute to this initiative, please read the information and sign below, and fill out the demographic survey on the following page.
