
Music Program
for ally, queer & trans
folks of all ages
Our Music Program builds community, connection & confidence in queer and trans folks of all ages.
New participants are admitted any time throughout the sessions.
All identities, bodies and levels of experience are welcome!
We are currently running 4 different groups:
• Youth Choir
Ages 18 and under | Fridays (4pm - 5pm)
Everyone is welcome to this group and no experience is required.
Students will meet weekly where they will learn the basics of vocal anatomy, warming up the voice and singing songs that they choose as a group.
• Youth Guitar & Strings Ensemble
Ages 14 to 20 | Thursdays (6:30pm - 8pm)
Students meet weekly to play songs that the group chooses. In addition to playing as a group, students can also improvise and play solos with the backing of the ensemble. There are also games, social time, snacks and more!
• Adult Band & Choir
Ages 18 and over | Thursdays (8:15pm - 9:30pm)
All instruments and voices welcome. Previous experience is encouraged for
instrumentalists. No experience required for vocalists. We will meet weekly to play songs chosen by the band, hang out and build community as we play and jam together.
• Creative Labs
Ages 13 and over | Fridays (3pm - 4pm online • 5pm - 6:30pm in person)
All are welcome to this group and no experience is required. Students meet twice a month to work on their own sound creation project. This can include any combination of music/sound creation (soundscapes/songwriting/composition etc.) with lyrics, poetry, spoken word, hip-hop, rap, visual art, crafts etc. Students can work solo or collaborate with others on their creations.
All groups are held at Anacrusis Music (205 - 1410 11 Ave SW).
