Marketing & Creative Lead

Eight Ounce is looking to add an experienced Marketing & Creative Lead to their team and is looking for someone with experience developing and executing marketing campaigns while managing and inspiring a team. This person must be available to work full-time days at their Calgary office, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Cohesive messaging across all of our platforms that drives loyalty and customer retention - keeping customers excited about who we are and what we are doing

  • Lead the creative team to develop marketing campaigns and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-­facing communications, including digital, print, and video assets

  • Segment existing customer base to target audiences and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels

  • Lead marketing campaigns from idea to execution, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration

  • Drive customer engagement across all platforms showcasing new and core products and brands, along with the people behind the business (behind the scenes posts and stories, coffee tastings, product testing, community engagement - show that we are real people!)

  • Analyze customer insights, consumer trends and behaviour, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies, adjusting email and advertising campaigns accordingly

  • Provide regular updates and report ROI and key metrics to the leadership team

  • Oversee and approve all marketing materials across all platforms in line with our company and brand strategy, enforcing brand marketing guidelines

  • Oversee all aspects of executing marketing events, trade shows, customer events, and wholesale partner sessions and track follow-up activities to measure results of the event (ROI)

  • Work closely with the relationship management and customer experience teams to engage customers, drive loyalty programs and minimize customer attrition

  • Assist the community strategist with sponsorship requests as required

  • Management of Google Ads/AdWords, print advertising website pop-ups and PushOwl alerts

  • Grow email and newsletter engagement by creating email marketing campaigns, such as product series emails for key products and brands

  • Forward planning and scheduling including creating a marketing calendar

  • Create informational pages on our websites to provide product and brand information

Experience & Skills

  • Secondary Education in Marketing or related field, or a minimum of 5+ years experience as a marketing coordinator or similar role. A combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role

  • Demonstrated experience in developing content, managing communications and targeted ads across various social media platforms including, but not limited to; Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

  • Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy to drive engagement

  • Proven experience developing multi-channel marketing plans and campaigns that engage, educate and motivate

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with a love for great copy and written communication

  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills

  • ​​Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity

  • Previous experience working with budgets and forecasting

  • A strong sense of aesthetics and an eye for detail

  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet targets and deadlines

  • Flexible with the ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment that is always changing, growing and improving

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability

  • Previous coffee industry experience is a bonus, but not required

  • Fluency in French would be an asset, but not required

Requirements

  • Must be available to work full-time days, Monday-Friday schedule at our Calgary office

  • Strong working knowledge of Shopify, Klaviyo, design and email softwares
