Expressions Program

Our Expressions Program help people express themselves the way they want through safe opportunities to learn skills including:

• Clothing & Fashion
• Hairstyling & Barbering
• Makeup & Skincare

What to expect?

Each appointment lasts about 2 hrs and includes:
• 30-45 minute session with a barber or hairstylist which may take the form of a questions/answer session, stylist session or haircut;
• 30-45 minute session with a make-up artist, skin care or beard/shaving expert and may include a demonstrate, lesson or consultation;
• 30-45 minute period to browse the racks of Skipping Stone’s collection of new and gently used clothes with community member stylists who will be on hand to support you and help you trying on and pick out some pieces for yourself.

Participants may also have the opportunity to take home some hair programs, cosmetics, skin care & grooming products courtesy of generous donations from our community.

Each Expressions event will also include the opportunity to connect with different businesses within our Trans Affirming Network who will be on site during the day.

Booking an appointment

This programs runs a minimum of 4 times per year and appointments are booked through this page. If there are no appointments remaining on the date you’d like, consider adding yourself to the wait list or checking back in occasionally in case new dates open.

All appointments receive the same experience regardless of what price level they select (no cost, $25, or $50) and participants are encouraged to select the one that fits best for them.

Each participant is only available to attend 1 time per 12 months.

Each Expressions Appointment is valued at $250 - $500.
