Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Skipping Stone!

From our peer mentors, to helping with office work, to helping setup and run events and activities, and more, volunteers are such an important part of everything we do at Skipping Stone!

At the moment we are currently only looking for more volunteers to help with Peer mentoring. If you are interesting in helping in other ways, please check back again soon!

- PEER MENTORING: CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Peer mentors are trans and gender diverse individuals, and parents of trans and gender diverse individuals, who are comfortable connecting with others around their lived experience. This program requires a six-month commitment.

- CHECK-IN SUPPORT: OPPORTUNITIES NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
These volunteers help ensure that clients and participants have easy and clear access to our office outside of business hours. They help with access, wayfinding and often help check clients in and get people setup for their activity/appointment. These roles are typically needed on evenings during the week and/or weekends.

- TRANSPORTATION: OPPORTUNITIES NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
These volunteers help ensure that clients for whom accessing our office might presentation barriers, still have access to all the supports we provide by helping us deliver it directly to them. This might include things like support care packages, books from our library, gender gear and more. These roles require their own vehicle/access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license and insurance.

All volunteers are required to attend a 2 hour volunteer orientation before participating. Volunteers who will be in settings where they are with clients without supervision from Skipping Stone staff will also be required to submit a recent Vulnerable Sector Search.
